I only went to two Dead shows. I got on the bus late and wasn't even a big fan when I went to see them in '93 and '94. I thought they were totally great shows, but I am also taking into account the whole atmosphere of what was going on. I know they were 100 times better in '72 but I wasn't around to see them then. Hooked ever since though.
I personally loved it, the scene, the music, the people, the dope. All of it. One of my top 10 shows all time. And I've seen a ton of shows ranging from Black Sabbath to Van Halen to Jean Luc-Ponty to Stanley Jordan to Elton John to The Who to Pink Floyd.
I remember see Iron Maiden and the singer got hit in the face with a shoe thrown from the audience. That show was just okay. The singer was understandably pissed. I saw Megadeth when they were all strung out on heroin and they pretty much sucked. I saw Ozzy a few years back at the Ozzfest and his voice sounded worse than Jerry's in '95.

I haven't heard a show from here that I haven't liked. And if I could go back to a crap show from '74, or an off night from '69. I would still be the first in line for it.
